Garrisons are one of the main features of Warlords of Draenor, where players gather resources, construct buildings, recruit followers and prepare their army to stand against their enemies. To customize your Garrison and give it some flavor, you can recruit several Secret NPCs throughout Draenor.

In this guide we'll go over all the Secret NPCs which are broken down by zone, mention if the NPCs are Horde or Alliance only, and list fun facts about recruiting them!

Shadowmoon Valley

Squiggy

How to unlock Squiggy: This Alliance only NPC will show in your Garrison after having done some of the very first accessible quests of Shadowmoon Valley.

• Take the quest A Hero's Welcome from Yrel, and after that pick up Think of the Children!
• While on this quest, find Ariaana whom will give you a quest to save her baby fey dragon: In Need of a Hero.
• Complete the quest, then turn in Think of the Children!, and you will have a fey dragon to pet when returning home!

Fun fact: If you pet Squiggy then the fey dragon will follow you around the Garrison.

Jarrod Hamby

How to unlock Jarrod Hamby: This Alliance only NPC will show in your Garrison after you have completed several quests in Shadowmoon Valley.

• You must complete The Fate of Karabor and Escape From Shaz'gul to pick up the quests required for Jarrod Hamby.
• Pick up the quest Lost Lumberjacks and complete it.
• The quest will lead up to the Gloomshade Grove questline, complete it and you will have a ghost to haunt your garrison!

Fun fact: Jarrod Hamby is the deceased husband of your follower Shelly Hamby!

Frostfire Ridge

Guh

How to unlock Guh: Simply go to him in Frostfire Ridge and speak to him. You will have multiple options, simply bribe him (it's 10 copper), and he will show up in your Garrison from time to time.

Fun fact: He sells Gas-Powered Stick which is a reference to an episode of Bravest Warriors.

Snowpaw

How to unlock Snowpaw: This Horde NPC will be unlocked after completing the following two quests:

• A Proper Parting
• Gut Guttra

Fun fact: Snowpaw will be running happily around your Garrison, but if you have pet menagerie you will find Snowpaw there sitting down.

Gorgrond

Peckers the Majestic

How to unlock Peckers the Majestic: All you've gotta do is free this majestic creature from his cage inside Kor'gall's Hovel. When you enter the cave go left and you'll find Peckers inside a cage.

Fun fact: If you pet him, he'll show his gratitude ... by attacking you and running away, but staying within the garrison, and angrily stare at you from a distance. Love hurts.

Rooter the Ravenous

How to unlock Rooter the Ravenous: Simply find him, feed and free him by completing his quest Rooter the Ravenous. Doing so will get you a nice little piggy in your garrison.

Sappy

How to unlock Sappy: Go to his location in Gorgrond, feed him and he'll run away. When you return back to the Garrison you'll find him at the Herb Garden.

Birchus

How to unlock Birchus as Horde:

• If you've chosen Lumber Mill, you will have the quest Shredder vs. Saberon
• If you have the Sparring Arena you will have Beatface vs. Boulder.
• Both of these quests lead to Ambassador to the Ancient, Steamscar "Reagents", and then eventually Taking the Death Bloom, having done these quests he should be wandering around in your Horde garrison!

How to unlock Birchus as Alliance:

• Start the quest Ambassador to the Ancient.
• This will lead you to quests similar as the Horde ones, which you'll have to complete.
• The last quest in the series is Laying Dionor to Rest.

Spires of Arak

Reshad and Percy

How to unlock Reshad and Percy: Simply complete all of the Spires of Arak quests and the achievement: Between Arak and a Hard Place.

Reshad and Percy, his companion, will then show up once in a while in your Garrison.

Fun fact: Percy is an inscription merchant that sells a few inscription supplies.

Tickle Bubblefizz

How to unlock Tickle Bubblefizz: Complete the Admiral Taylor (Alliance) / Admiral Taylor (Horde) quest in Spires of Arak.

Fun fact: Tickle Bubblefizz sells a multitude of beverages.

Nagrand

Hemet Nesingwary

How to unlock Hemet Nesingwary: The best way any companion can be gained - simply go to him in Nagrand, drink some of his beer and have a chat with him. That's all it takes for him to start showing up at your garrison!

Caregiver Felaani and Isel

How to unlock Caregiver Felaani and Isel as Alliance only NPCs:

• Start the Nagrand introduction quest News from Nagrand
• Complete the 8th quest in the series The Others

How to unlock Shadow Hunter Maloa, Shadow Hunter Spar'kuhl and Shadow Hunter J'wan:

• Start the questline Target of Opportunity: Telaar
• Complete the quest The Blessing of Samedi

Fun fact: Even though they're all here dead, one of them, Shadow Hunter Spar'kuhl can actually be found later on in Durotar during Legion, kneeling at Vol'jin's funeral!

Note: Not all Shadow Hunters may appear dancing at the same time.

Miscellaneous

Faithful Dog

You can get the Faithful Dog, your loyal companion from Valley of the Four Winds, to show up in your Garrison by completing the quest Lost and Lonely.

Pepe

Pepe is one of the most beloved and faithful companions in World of Warcraft. Added in Warlords of Draenor, he quickly took over our hearts and became a little celebrity. Nowadays, rarely anyone chooses to venture into new content alone, and with Pepe, you've got a friend with you all the time!

For both Horde and Alliance players, Pepe can be found in the first tree on the left after exiting the main building in the Level 3 Garrison. When interacting with him, you will get a 1 hour buff that reads "You've got a friend!" which is adorable on its own. Pepe will sit on your head for that duration, or until you die. If that happens, you can go back to your Garrison and find him in the same tree. His respawn time is around 5 minutes.
