Zul’Gurub Ancient Secrets

Ancient Secrets within Zul'Gurub represent a variety of collectibles and lost transmog pieces that can be unlocked by completing the achievement Relics of a Fallen Empire.

In this guide we'll go over how to complete the achievement Relics of a Fallen Empire and unlock the ability to discover ancient secrets within Zul'Gurub, such as the Brazier of Madness toy, ancient recipes, and Zul'Gurub ensembles!

Relics of a Fallen Empire

To complete the achievement Relics of a Fallen Empire and unlock the ability to discover ancient secrets within Zul'Gurub, follow these steps:

• Make your way to Northern Stranglethorn and enter Zul'Gurub on heroic difficulty.
• Clear any two bosses inside the dungeon, and then proceed the Altar of the Blood God in the central area.
• Instead of going upstairs, head sideways and enter the temple, as shown in the following screenshot.

• Inside the temple, find and loot the Shattered Hakkari Bijou on the ground near the gong.
• Head upstairs and defeat one of the Gurubashi Spirit Warriors on the platforms near Jin'do.
• Bring Jin'do down to 1 health to enter the spirit realm, then return to the gong and loot the Fragmented Hakkari Bijou.

• To leave the spirit realm, you can use Dalaran Hearthstone or complete the encounter.
• Aggro one Gurubashi Spirit and position yourself on top of Hakkar's Chains.
• Wait for the Gurubashi Spirit to use Body Slam, then attack the chains to destroy them.
• After all three chains have been destroyed, attack Jin'do one more time to finish the encounter.
• Combine the Shattered and Fragmented Hakkari Bijous to create Restored Hakkari Bijou.
• Accept the quest Restored Hakkari Bijou and turn it in to Rin'wosho the Trader in Dazar'alor.

Deadliest Cache

To complete the achievement Deadliest Cache, you will have to fish up a Jostled Gurubashi Cache or a Waterlogged Gurubashi Cache.

• Head to the northeastern shore of the lake, where you will find several Gurubashi Villagers.
• Enter the area to get the buff Mudskunk Aroma, and then you can start fishing.
• If the Mudskunk Aroma buff disappears, simply re-enter the area to get it again.
• Note that you can fish up only one cache per character every day.

Brazier of Madness

Head to the Cache of Madness and loot the Brazier of Madness near the altar.

Alchemy

Alchemists with 300 skill points in Classic Alchemy can read the Tablet of Madness on the altar to learn how to craft Gurubashi Mojo Madness.

These potions can be bought and sold on the Auction House.

Blacksmithing

The Brazier of Madness summons a campfire which is required for crafting Warblades of the Hakkari, Reborn.

Blacksmiths that gather the necessary materials and craft the warblades will complete the achievement Seething Flames of Hatred.

Tribute Piles

Using Gurubashi Mojo Madness will extinguish the Brazier of Madness and give you the buff Succumbed to Madness, making you friendly to all the mobs in Zul'Gurub and allowing you to interact with Tribute Piles throughout Zul'Gurub.

There are four Tribute Piles where you can offer Bijous in exchange for a Gurubashi Tribute:

• Offering of Fangs - Behind High Priest Venoxis.
  Requires 2 Silver Hakkari Bijou or 3 Gold Hakkari Bijou or 3 Green Hakkari Bijou.
• Offering of Blood - Near Bloodlord Mandokir, to the right.
  Requires 2 Bronze Hakkari Bijou or 3 Gold Hakkari Bijou or 3 Red Hakkari Bijou.
• Offering of Claws - Behind High Priestess Kilnara, in the back of the room.
  Requires 2 Orange Hakkari Bijou or 3 Gold Hakkari Bijou or 3 Yellow Hakkari Bijou.
• Offering of Mojo - Near Zanzil's green cauldron in the Devil's Terrace.
  Requires 2 Purple Hakkari Bijou or 3 Gold Hakkari Bijou or 3 Blue Hakkari Bijou.

Hakkari Bijous

There are a total of 9 Hakkari Bijous that can be farmed by clearing trash mobs and bosses inside Zul'Gurub. Bosses are guaranteed to drop 1 Bijou, and have a rare chance to drop a Big Bag o' Bijous that contains several Bijous.
