Whispers from K’aresh Secret Walkthrough

Whispers from K'aresh are mysterious audio transmissions originating from the shattered world of K'aresh. These have been described as messages discovered from the void, issuing both a word of warning, and a call to action.

Audio Log Part 1

The first audio transmission has been discovered by Queen Ishura, marking the beginning of a strange signal leaking from the void.

Audio Log Part 2

The second audio transmission was teased in a post on Reddit.

Once the translation was complete, a hidden YouTube video was quickly discovered in the r/wow rules section.

Audio Log Part 3

Three puzzles were created by Miko, Daugen and Xisthena, staff from the Secret Finding Discord, in collaboration with Blizzard.

Puzzle 1: Dawn

Solution

This puzzle uses a Vigenère cipher, with the bolded letters in the poem (m, t, b, u, e) serving as the ciphertext.

The key used to decode it is shade, a word hinted at through the poem's theme of shadow and veil.

When decrypted using the Vigenère method:

• Ciphertext: m t b u e
• Key: shade
• Result: umbra

Puzzle 2: Convergence

A secret transmission video was shared, which contained several layered puzzles.

An image of partially translated Ethereal Runes was also shared. Using the accompanying book, the runic text in the video was decoded and additional symbols were translated.

• The "points" referenced in the video are leylines that span across Azeroth.
• A sixth major leyline location was missing from the map: The Sunwell.
• Overlaying all six points onto the puzzle table revealed six numbers.
• Read clockwise starting in Kalimdor (or left to right), the numbers were: 43, 45, 21, 11, 11, 14.
• Decoding them using the Polybius Square method revealed the word: Sufaad.
• Sufaad is one of the zones in K'aresh, and the home of Lora, the narrator from the audio logs.

Puzzle 3: Resonance

An 8x8 grid of muon and tau emojis was shared, along with the cryptic message: Remember the prize that lies ahead.

The emojis were converted to binary as follows:

• Muon = 1
• Tau = 0

These 64 bits were split into 6-bit strings (padding the end with two zeros to complete the final set):

Each 6-bit string was then converted to a character using Base64 indexing:

The final decoded string was oBdsiFNkmjQ, the YouTube video code for the third audio log.
