Retribution Hidden Artifact Appearance for Ashbringer is called "Corrupted Remembrance" and is unlocked via Heart of Corruption.

• First obtain the two Nat Pagle books: Nat Pagle's Guide to Extreme Anglin' (looted off players in Alterac Valley), and A Thoroughly Read Copy of "Nat Pagle's Guide to Extreme Anglin'." (looted from A Dusty Tome in Dire Maul).
• Kill Nefarian in Blackwing Lair and loot the Head of Nefarian (however, do not complete the quest associated with the item, as you need the item itself, not the quest).
• Talk to Sister Elda with both books while in Retribution spec, and she will give you A Complete Copy of "Nat Pagle's Guide to Extreme Anglin'.".
• Talk to Prince Tortheldrin in Dire Maul West with the new book and Nefarian's head. However, do not kill Immol'thar (you can skip all mobs and bosses).
• Alliance: Talk to Alexia Ironknife at Chillwind Camp in Western Plaguelands.
• Horde: Talk to Bardu Sharpeye at The Bulwark in Tirisfal Glades.
• Read Grand Inquisitor Isillien's Journal at Hearthglen in Western Plaguelands.

• Kill the Large Vile Slime next to Thondroril River in Western Plaguelands and loot Timolain's Phylactery.
• Use Timolain's Phylactery and talk to Timolain the Accursed (go through his entire dialogue).
• Fish up the Shard of Darkness from the Thondroril River.
• In the end, talk to Lord Maxwell Tyrosus with the shard, which will give you the Walking in Shadows quest. Use the Dalaran flight master to travel to the Legion version of Acherus: The Ebon Hold where a short event will play out.
• After that return to Lord Maxwell Tyrosus in your class hall, hand in the quest and you'll get the Heart of Corruption appearance.
