Class Trials and Rare Mounts

Class Trials are time-limited characters that let players test classes before deciding whether to use a Character Boost on them. Since these characters are free to create, mount collectors used them to check several realms at once and speed up camping. Nowadays class trial characters are rarely used due to sharding changes, which despawn all creatures when no players are present in a zone.

Note: Class Trials received a change in the Battle for Azeroth pre-patch, preventing Class Trials from looting some specific rare mounts.

The following mounts can be looted on trial characters:

• Garrison Bosses
• Grey Riding Camel
• Liberated Slyvern (drops from Breezebiter)
• Long-Forgotten Hippogryph
• Mottled Meadowstomper (drops from Luk'hok)
• Mechagon and Uldum Rares
• Soundless (and other Nazjatar Rares)
• Sundancer
• Voidtalon

The following mounts cannot be looted on trial characters:

• Alani
• Argus Rares
• Draenor Rares (except Luk'hok)
• Huolon
• Pandaria World Bosses
• Phosphorescent Stone Drake (drops from Aeonaxx)
• Poseidus
• Tanaan Jungle Rares
• Time-Lost Proto Drake
• Zandalari Warbringers
