Achievements

For the Children

For the Children is the meta achievement for this event, and will reward you with the Patron or Matron title. These are the achievements you have to complete to obtain it:

This achievement requires you to use your Hearthstone while you have an orphan with you.

To complete this achievement you need to complete 5 daily quests (blue exclamation marks) while your orphan is with you.

You only need your orphan to be summoned when you turn in the quests, and not while you're completing them. Other activities that qualify as daily quests such as looting a treasure chest in Legion or later areas, or defeating a rare you can only loot once a day (i.e. Argus rares), will count towards this achievement.

For this achievement you will need to obtain and eat the sweets listed on the achievement. There are multiple vendors for some of the items, however we'll be listing only the most relevant and easy to find.

This achievement is obtained after choosing one of the pets as a reward for the Childern's Week quest chain. Refer to the Quests section of this guide for detailed information.

For this achievement you simply need to make your way through the Utgarde Pinnacle dungeon in Howling Fjord, Northrend on any difficulty, and slay the final boss, King Ymiron while your orphan is present.

Other Achievements

This achievement requires you to obtain Peanut, Willy and Egbert.

This one is arguably the hardest achievement for this event. It requires you to complete certain activities in different battlegrounds while your orphan is out.

Keep in mind that it's a PvP battle, and you will probably get killed multiple times. Your orphan will despawn every time you die, and will have to be re-summoned each time.

Return a fallen flag in Warsong Gulch

In Warsong Gulch, each team has a flag on their base, which the opposing team can steal. The player who steals the flag has to run all the way to their own base to turn it in, but if they die, the flag will be dropped on the spot, becoming clickable. If a member of the same team clicks on the flag, they will take over and become the flag carrier, but if a member of the opposing team clicks on the flag, it will instantly be returned safely to their base.

Your goal is to be the one clicking the enemy team's flag when it drops on the spot, therefore your main focus during the battle will be to slay the enemy flag carrier, and spam click nearby so you're the first one to click on the dropped flag.

Assault a flag in Arathi Basin

In Arathi Basin, there are 5 bases that can be controlled by either team. Players can capture this flag by clicking on it and casting for 10 seconds uninterrupted.

Bases and their flags can have different states:

  • Neutral: At the start before anyone captured them. You'll see them in grey colour in the map.
  • Assaulted: When a player has captured it, and it's becoming Controlled. You'll see them half in the faction's colour (red or blue), and half in grey in the map.
  • Controlled: When it's been Assaulted for a short time, it becomes Controlled and will give points to the controlling team. You'll see them in the faction's colour (red or blue) in the map.

Capturing a flag when its Neutral or Controlled by the enemy team will turn it into Assaulted for your team. Capturing a flag when it's Assaulted by the enemy team will either turn it back to Controlled for your team (this is known as defending a flag), or Assault it for yours if it has never been Controlled in the first place.

Your goal for the achievement is to capture a flag to Assault it. Defending one doesn't count. There is also mixed reports of Neutral flags not giving credit for the achievement when you capture them.

Assault a tower in Alterac Valley

In Alterac Valley, each faction starts off with several towers under their control, spread throughout the map. Each tower has some NPC and a flag inside at the top. Players from the opposing team can capture this flag by clicking on it and casting for 10 seconds uninterrupted. This will start destroying the tower, and after a few minutes, it will be completely destroyed. Players can also choose to defend their own towers by re-capturing a tower that has been assaulted, and stop the destruction.

Your goal for this achievement is to be the one to assault an enemy tower, but you don't have to wait for it to be destroyed.

Capture the flag in Eye of the Storm

In Eye of the Storm, there's a flag in the middle of the battleground, and 4 bases spread evenly around the battleground. Players can capture the bases for their faction by standing near them for a short time. As for the flag, players can click on it, and after 10 seconds of uninterrupted casting, they will become the flag carrier. If the flag carrier reaches a base controlled by their faction, the flag will be turned in automatically, and the faction will gain score. The flag will then be reset at the middle after a few seconds. If the flag carrier dies, the flag is dropped and any player from both teams can retrieve it and become the flag carrier.

Your goal for the achievement is to become the flag carrier, and turn it in on one of your faction's bases.
